Corporate Bankruptcy

Thompson O’Brien’s Bankruptcy, Reorganization, Workouts and Receiverships group offers a sophisticated insolvency practice representing creditors, debtors, trustees and committees nationwide in large, complex bankruptcy cases. We specialize in commercial bankruptcies and  reorganization proceedings in workout negotiations, default and foreclosure actions in state courts, and in Bankruptcy Court proceedings under Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code.

One of the group’s partners serves as a member of the Panel of Bankruptcy Trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of Georgia, and served as a Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 Trustee in thousands of bankruptcy cases.   Other group members have been appointed as Receivers in complex business cases and have administered receivership estates throughout the Southeast.  The experience of our partners and associates dedicated to this area of practices gives us the necessary depth of professionals to staff large reorganization cases anywhere in the country.

Our attorneys advise corporate clients and financial institutions in pre-bankruptcy workout negotiations and structuring, have extensive litigation backgrounds, and are supported by the real estate, banking, financial and corporate attorneys who have expertise on issues arising in the bankruptcy/reorganization context.

Thompson O’Brien prides itself on being able to develop creative solutions for the most complex of creditor/debtor disputes.  The firm is proud of a diverse client base including individual creditors, creditors’ committees, lenders, trustees and debtors.  We also represent both creditors and borrowers in commercial workouts and out-of-court debt restructurings.
